Well it should, because in 1988 our first President and co-founder was a local medical physician who demanded an extraordinary amount of attention to detail and care for the caller (patient) and their relationship with the medical community. In addition to designing our initial format, he remained President until 2012 at which time he took a position as president emeritus and continues to advise our company on a regular basis regarding procedures and changes. MedCom’s current president came on board ten months after it was founded; he established a close friendship with our original founder that remains to this day.

It takes months for a MedCom call agent (operator) to become a medical specialist. Procedures, verifications, stat calls, code stemi’s, prescriptions, lab protocol, consults, hospital floor calls, new admits, new babies, pregnancy calls, hospice, oxygen related calls all take special training to handle properly and fit the stipulations specifically required by each individual medical practice or group. Script or automated announcement is available prior to a live operator finalizing the call. We do post on call schedules for all customers, with periodic reminders.
